THAMARI KUND
is a perennial lake, which is one of the freshest fresh water lakes in the entire region of Kumaon Valley. A beautiful trek surrounded by thick paper trees leads to this lake. Trekking from the township of Munsiyari to reach the lake takes about 8 hours and hence one should start the journey early in the morning with caution. The entire lake of Thamari is surrounded by a thick network of alpines, which offer a spectacular view of the place. It provides spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, especially the Panchchuli peak.

THAMARI KUND
Thamari Kund is a perennial lake of fresh water located in the forests of the Munsiyari region of Uttarakhand. It is situated approximately 10 km before the Munsiyari town, followed by a 3 km trek to reach the Kund. Buses and taxis are frequently available from major town to Munsiyari.
If you are traveling by road from Delhi to Thamari Kund, the distance is approximately 615 km. You can find buses and taxis available from ISBT Anand Vihar in Delhi to both Almora and Pithoragarh. From either Almora or Pithoragarh, you can hire a taxi and take local cab to reach Thamari Kund.
If you prefer to travel by air, the nearest airport to Thamari Kund is Pantnagar Airport, which is located approximately 302 km away. From Pantnagar Airport, you can hire taxis that will take you directly to the base of Kund.
If you prefer to travel by train to reach Thamari Kund, the nearest railway station is Kathgodam, situated approximately 265 km away from the Kund. From Kathgodam railway station, you can easily hire a taxi or opt for a sharing cab to reach Thamari Kund.
